This was posted by CyclopticSummers over at the Danger room. I figured I'd share it with everyone here and see what you guys thought about it.
Well I've heard about this upcoming game for a little while but now the magazine I subscribe to had an article about it so it really started to pique my interest.
Raven Software (the company that brought us X-Men Legends) is taking on all of Marvel in an epic action/RPG called Marvel: Ultimate Alliance. In it you get to create your own Marvel superhero team to take on Dr. Doom and the Masters of Evil who are supposedly trying to steal the power of my personal favorite Asgardian God, the one eyed Odin.
The superhero team deal is going to work a little bit like a fantasy sport deal. You get to pick the name, logo and a certain number of members which increases as your bad or good reputation grows.
The flashback missions from Legends will be returning and depending on choices made and sidequests taken you can get various epilogues which aren't alternative endings but show what happens to characters through the course of the game. (There is said to be a flashback mission for each character)
Instead of the Danger Room this time around there will be a SHIELD simulation room. (Yes, SHIELD is going to play a role in the game) The game is also described to be more action oriented which will give it a faster pace with characters running, dodging, and rolling around the screen. The camera is going to be a little different too where it ranges from quasi-side scroller to third person over-the-shoulder style.
Raven claimed there will be over 20 playable characters and over 140 characters will end up in the game. So far the confirmed playable ones are Captain America, Wolverine, Spider-Man, Thor, Elektra, Dr. Stephen Strange, and Ghost Rider. Characters that will be in the game but is unknown whether they will be playable are Namor, Nick Fury, Silver Surfer, Dr. Doom, Galactus. Some of the confirmed locations will be Atlantis, SHIELD helicarrier, and the Skrull Throneworld.
Credit for these scans go to Spidey-Bat on the Superherohype boards. From the ones I checked out the text is clear enough to read but it's pretty small.

I think it looks really cool. It's about time they made something like this. Although whoever designed Ghost Rider for the game is MESSED UP! HE IS NOT ORANGE!! Other than that I'm looking forward to it. I think it's really cool that the same team that worked on X-men: Legends I and II are returning for a full Marvel game. They even have the same graphic people for the cut scenes which is cool. I just hope they'll have good voice overs (mutters about the young guy doing a bad job in the Ultimate Avengers movie)
